Prometeo Tiara โ€” Guide

Everything you need to set up, connect, and use the Prometeo Tiara EEG headset effectively and safely.

โšก Quick Start (5 Steps)

Follow these steps to run your first EEG session with the Prometeo Tiara.

  1. 1

    Charge & Prepare the Device

Ensure the Prometeo Tiara is fully charged. Verify that the electrodes are clean and the sensor contacts are unobstructed.

  2. 2

    Fit the Headset

Place the tiara comfortably on your head, with the electrode array centered along the forehead and temporal regions. Adjust for a snug but comfortable fit.

  3. 3

    Connect via Bluetooth

Power on the device and pair it with your laptop. Open the Anticipation platform and select Connect Device. See the Bluetooth section for full steps.

  4. 4

    Run a Session Protocol

Select a service (e.g., Recovery, Buda Omega) or start a free-form recording. Follow the on-screen calibration and segment instructions.

  5. 5

    Review & Export

When the session ends, view your EEG summary and export a structured report. See Exporting Reports for details.

๐Ÿ–ฅ Requirements

Before using the Prometeo Tiara, ensure your setup meets the following criteria.

๐Ÿ’ป
Laptop / Desktop

Windows 10+ or macOS 11+. A modern browser (Chrome, Edge) is required to run the platform.

๐Ÿ“ก
Bluetooth 4.0+

Built-in or USB Bluetooth adapter supporting BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy).

๐Ÿ”‹
Charged Device

Charge via USB-C for at least 30 minutes before the first session.

๐ŸŒ
Internet Access

Required for platform access and report uploading. Offline mode is planned for future releases.

๐Ÿ“ก Bluetooth Connection

The Prometeo Tiara connects via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). Follow these steps to pair it with your laptop.

Pairing via the Platform

  1. Power on the Prometeo Tiara by holding the power button for 2 seconds. The LED will flash blue.
  2. Open the Anticipation platform in your browser and navigate to any service panel.
  3. Click Connect BLE Device in the interface.
  4. Your browser will show a device picker โ€” select Prometeo Tiara from the list.
  5. Once paired, the LED indicator on the headset turns solid blue and the platform shows Connected.

Note: Web Bluetooth is currently supported in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Ensure your browser is up to date. Firefox and Safari are not yet supported.

Re-connecting

If the device disconnects mid-session, click Reconnect in the platform. The EEG recording will resume from the current point without losing prior data.

๐Ÿง  Basic Session Protocol

Each session follows a structured protocol to ensure data consistency and reliability.

Typical Session Structure

  1. Baseline (60โ€“120 s): Sit quietly with eyes closed. Used to establish an individual resting reference.
  2. Eyes Open Calibration (30 s): Look forward at a fixed point. Establishes alpha-attenuation baseline.
  3. Task Segments: Complete structured activities defined by the service (e.g., focus exercises, meditation, audio playback).
  4. Rest Intervals: Brief rest periods between segments allow signal recovery.
  5. Session Close: Remove the headset, save the recording, and review the output.

Important: Minimize head movement during active recording segments. Muscle artifacts (EMG) can significantly degrade EEG signal quality.

๐Ÿ“„ Exporting Reports

At the end of each session, the platform generates a structured summary that can be exported for review or sharing.

What's in a Report

  • Session metadata (date, duration, service used)
  • Band power values: delta, theta, alpha, beta, gamma (average per segment)
  • Band ratio trends across the session
  • Signal quality indicators (SQI) per segment
  • Raw EEG data excerpt (CSV format)

Export Steps

  1. After session completion, click View Session Report in the service panel.
  2. Review the summary charts and metrics.
  3. Click Export CSV or Export PDF to download.
  4. Reports are stored locally. No patient data is uploaded to external servers without consent.

๐Ÿ”ง Troubleshooting

Device not appearing in Bluetooth list

  • Ensure the Prometeo Tiara is powered on and in pairing mode (LED flashing blue).
  • Check that Bluetooth is enabled on your laptop and not blocked by system permissions.
  • Try refreshing the page and clicking Connect BLE Device again.
  • Move closer to the device โ€” recommended range is within 2 meters.

Poor signal quality / flatline

  • Check that the electrodes are making contact with skin, not hair.
  • Apply a small amount of conductive gel or saline to improve contact (optional).
  • Reduce ambient electrical interference โ€” move away from large screens or power adapters.

Platform not showing data after connect

  • Reload the browser page and reconnect the device.
  • Ensure you are using Chrome or Edge (Web Bluetooth required).
  • Check the browser console for error messages and contact support if needed.
